Lauterbrunnen and Gimmelwald

We were sad to see that it was foggy out the next morning be has we had an awesome hike planned that had spectacular views of all the snow capped mountains. It stayed foggy for the while day. We rook a train to Wengen and then rode a gondola up to Mannlichen. From there we began our hike to the Klein Scheindegg. This is the view of Lauterbrunnen from the train.

That cable is the One we will be riding.

In the gondola.

That little speck of blue is the same swimming pool from the above picture. Yup we were super high up. The brown things on the left Side of the picture are snow fences. These are all over up there so when the snow melts they don't have avalanches that take out entire cities.

View of snow fence and typical Swiss wildflowers.

We started our hike and were doing fine. Pretty flat and easy for the most part. Everyonce in awhile we would come across rock towers that people started. We did our addition and Chris pretended to kick one over.

We reached our destination. Took a break and kept on going downwards back to Wengen. The decent was downhill the whole time. We heard cow bells in the distance and I was persistent in finding them. Which we did. Adorable and super friendly.

I absolutely loved them! The we continued onward. On the hike back, Chris and I kept hearing a noise like thunder and couldn't figure out what it was. Yup it was avalanches taking place int he valley. We were lucky enough to turn around and see one from start to finish.

The whole entire hike consisted of seeing a bazillion waterfalls and flowers. We came across some farmers, calves, and impeccable gardens. Complete with gnome and friends!

I love Swiss homes...ahhhhh.

We finally finished our hike and had to wait for the train. Chris wanted a beer and I joined him. The minute I sat down a bird shit on me. Not happy considering it was my new fancy shirt I had just bought! The lady at the restaurant laughed and said that the animals have to go to sometimes. She cleaned me up in the back room with scalding hot water.

I will have to continue with the rest of the day on a new post...
